Job Summary
Editor/Writer / Communications Coordinator role supporting HR communications for a defense research organization. Draft, edit, schedule, post and maintain content on HR communications channels including internal/external webpages, SharePoint sites/newsletters, and print materials. Review and edit communications to ensure quality and alignment with department goals. Create and maintain knowledge base articles within ServiceNow to improve employee self-service. Partner with HR subject matter experts to document HR procedures and workflows. Update content to improve usability, readability, and searchability; track content lifecycle. Ensure documentation aligns with branding and standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, IT, and other stakeholders; support ad hoc HR communications projects. Required skills include strong written, visual, and oral communication; ability to convey information inclusively and clearly; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media; experience with ServiceNow Knowledge Base; ability to work independently and in a team. Preferred skills include SharePoint. Requires Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in related fields, plus the ability to obtain an Interim/Active Secret Clearance and US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or related field
- 3+ years of related experience in communications, technical writing or knowledge management
- 3 years Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- 3 years ServiceNow HRSD experience
- 3 years Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
- Experience with gathering and synthesizing information to develop process maps, workflows and related documentation
- Experience creating and maintaining content on web pages and wikis
- 3 years of experience in social media or job boards
- 3+ years of related experience in communications, technical writing or knowledge management
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
