Job Summary
Editor to join Outkick.com team to shape editorial coverage by assigning stories, editing, and taking pitches from reporters and OutKick talent. You will copy-edit and fact-check stories, write and report when necessary, and work closely with the editorial leadership and Social Media team. Requires excellent copy-editing skills, strong knowledge of the OutKick brand, and the ability to deliver original, authentic content for readers. The role requires familiarity with content management systems, strong SEO and social media skills, excellent organizational ability, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends with an on-call mentality. Experience with AI as part of daily workflow and prior experience with digital analytics to monitor/build traffic are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in news, TV, or digital
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience using content management systems
- Strong SEO and social media skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability/flexibility to work different shifts including evenings and weekends; on-call mentality and ability to work under emergency/breaking news conditions
- Excellent copy-editing and fact-checking skills
- Knowledge of sports, pop culture, culture, and news
- Experience with newsletters is a plus
- Prior experience with digital analytics to monitor and build traffic is a plus
- Experience with AI and willingness to adopt AI in daily workflow
