Job Summary
Review and edit manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, PDFs, and digital materials for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity while ensuring alignment with house, client, and journal style guides. Apply digital markup tools and tracked changes to provide actionable feedback, proof typeset copy for layout accuracy, and verify scientific data against source materials. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, manage copyright permissions, and update client style guides. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and timesheets weekly, flagging scope or timeline misalignments. Requires a life sciences degree, one year of medical communications experience, and proficiency in Word, EndNote, and Adobe Acrobat.
Required Qualifications
- Life sciences degree
- 1+ year of experience working for a medical communications company, medical journal or similar
- Highest standards of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solutions-focused, sound judgement and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced agency setting
- Strong multi-tasking, planning and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- Experience with digital markup, tracked changes, and editing tools
- Excellent attention to detail
