Job Summary

Define and implement the journal's editorial strategy in collaboration with the editorial board and key stakeholders. Strengthen the journal's international position by identifying emerging areas, commissioning high-quality content, and developing opportunities for reviews, perspectives, and thematic collections. Lead, develop, and engage the journal's editorial board to ensure appropriate subject coverage, international representation, and alignment with strategic goals. Promote best practices in publishing ethics, research integrity, peer review, and open research. Represent the journal at conferences, workshops, and virtual outreach activities while collaborating with internal teams across editorial, marketing, and analytics. Uphold the highest standards of editorial integrity and support a culture of collaboration, transparency, and inclusion across the journal team.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering and/or Renewable Energy
  • PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant discipline (e.g., chemical engineering, environmental science, energy technology, or carbon capture and storage)
  • strong international research profile in renewable energy
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas, greenhouse gas science, carbon capture, storage, transport and utilization, and climate-change mitigation technologies
  • sustainable biofuels, bioproducts, bio-renewables and biorefining
  • broad, interdisciplinary outlook with strong understanding of scientific publishing, peer review and research integrity
  • ability to engage researchers across academia, industry, government and policy communities
  • Excellent communication, networking and strategic thinking skills
  • collaborative, diplomatic leadership style
  • Outstanding organizational skills and sound judgment
  • strong commitment to advancing high-quality science and open research
  • willingness to travel to represent the journal as needed
  • On-site presence required

Desired Qualifications
