Job Summary
EDI Specialist who will be the primary technical lead for our data exchange ecosystem, configuring and monitoring EDI 834 transactions, leading onboarding of employer groups and carriers, ensuring HIPAA-compliant data exchanges, and transforming data into standardized formats. Responsibilities include enrollment management, partner onboarding/integration via SFTP/AS2, data mapping and transformation, troubleshooting file rejections, and cross-functional collaboration with Account Management, Claims, and Operations to ensure timely data flow across systems. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field, 3+ years in healthcare benefits EDI, strong ANSI X12 (834, ideally 820), experience with EDI translation tools and SQL, and knowledge of HSA/FSA/HRA/COBRA concepts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years in EDI, specifically within healthcare or benefits administration
- Knowledge of health benefits (HSA, FSA, HRA, COBRA) and the life events that trigger data changes
- Strong mastery of ANSI X12 standards, specifically 834 (Enrollment) and ideally 820 (Premium Payments)
- Hands-on experience with EDI translation tools and SQL for data validation
