Job Summary
Greet guests in person or by phone to schedule reservations and coordinate the flow of guests at the front of the restaurant. Manage the host stand by checking reservation lists, assigning parties to tables, and escorting diners to their seats while delivering menus. Control guest movement through rotation seating and anticipate peak times by communicating with managers regarding banquet duties or special events. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and host station, including coat check assistance and bathroom checks. Answer the phone professionally to confirm and document reservations, accurately quote waiting times, and encourage Platinum Club membership. Complete opening, side, and closing duties, re-set tables in the dining room, and assist with team members as needed. Work a flexible part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and lunch hours, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Meet state age requirement for the position
- Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively
- Must have professional communication and social skills appropriate for guests
- Must be self motivated and able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Strong team-work orientation, well organized, able to take direction from others
- Basic math and computer skills required
- Able to work a flexible, part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Lunch-time serving hours may be required for certain seasons, holidays, or special events
- Work days and hours vary in accordance with business need
- Able to stand for 4 or more hours at a time
- Able to lift and carry 15 pounds on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
