Job Summary
Assist the Registered Nurse and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments while documenting patient care, vital signs, and observations. Maintain equipment and supplies to support cost containment, then prioritize daily nursing demands by organizing time to meet department needs. Observe and report patient condition changes to the RN or provider, provide patient and family education within scope of practice, and record and collect specimens. Ensure state of readiness by ordering and conserving supplies appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT) or Paramedic (PM)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification
- Phlebotomist Technician license
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
