Job Summary
Emergency Department Technician supports physicians and nursing staff in delivering patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. Responsibilities include stocking supplies and equipment based on volume and par levels, ensuring patient rooms are stocked and cleaned, reporting equipment malfunctions, documenting patient care in medical records, monitoring patients requiring one-to-one observation, transporting patients between departments, participating in quality improvement processes, orienting new personnel, maintaining department policies and safety standards, and pursuing ongoing professional development to stay current in the field.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior experience in an emergency department, urgent care, or hospital setting strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly in emergency situations
- Meet annual competency and retraining requirements
