Job Summary
Educational Technician to join the Great Salt Bay School special education team. Support life skills instruction, personal care, communication, community access, and functional academics in collaboration with special education teachers, therapists, and families. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies while using assistive technology and data entry tools. CPI or Safety Care training is preferred or training can be provided.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as an Educational Technician I, II, or III (as required by the position and state guidelines)
- Experience working with students with developmental, intellectual, or behavioral disabilities in a school or structured setting
- Knowledge of life skills instruction, including personal care, hygiene, communication, community access, and functional academics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with special education teachers, therapists, and families
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility when working with students who have diverse and complex needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies
- Basic technology skills for data entry and use of assistive technology
- Crisis prevention and intervention training (e.g., CPI, Safety Care) preferred or willingness to be trained
