Job Summary
ED Tech provides direct patient care under the guidance of an RN or designated healthcare professional in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, mobility assistance, lab draws, ECGs, basic wound care, and other unit-based duties; completes patient rounding; serves as 1:1 patient safety companion as needed; communicates changes to nursing staff; delivers high level customer service to patients and families; accurate documentation; participates in handoff reports; conducts delegated tasks after competency validation; collects data and performs screenings; contributes to quality and safety improvements; able to work independently, problem solve, and manage stress in a fast-paced environment. Education required: High School Diploma or GED. Certifications considered: BLS preferred at hire; EMR/EMT/Medical Assisting optional. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- Current certification for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Assisting (preferred)
