ED Nursing Technician

Assists the Emergency Department nursing staff and supports patient care with technical and laboratory duties per policy. Collaborates with the health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans; records patient medical history for RN review; performs measurements and screening (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, vision testing); records findings on charts; collects blood and urine specimens and assists with throat cultures and buccal smears; performs electrocardiograms; assists physicians and nurses with procedures including L.P. and pelvic exams; maintains orderly examination rooms and ensures supplies; documents data clearly in medical records; checks ED equipment daily and uses MAST suit under MD/RN direction; performs CPR as needed and handles post-mortem care and transport if required; adheres to Basic Life Support and medical assisting requirements.
