Job Summary
Conduct bedside registration for emergency patients, collecting demographics, insurance details, and regulatory signatures while verifying patient identity in high-stress environments. Manage multi-line telephone systems and ambulance radio communications to capture vital signs and chief complaints, ensuring timely coordination with EMS, law enforcement, and correctional facilities. Execute clinical measures such as door-to-EKG notifications, process EMTALA compliance, and handle system downtimes to maintain workflow. Verify laboratory specimens, collect copayments, and interact effectively with diverse populations including critically injured or distressed individuals. Rotate assignments across disciplines as needed within the Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Ability to keep composure in a high-stress environment
- Ability to multi-task in stressful and high patient volume unit
- Good judgement and ability to be resourceful to problem solve
- Ability to manage contained blood, urine and other bodily fluids
- Ability to handle a multi-line telephone system
- Must be able to push 35- 50 lb WOW
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to interact effectively with external agency personnel: EMS Agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies and Correction Facilities
- Ability to Answering multi-line telephone and managing all calls in calm, courteous, respectful manner
- Capture brief information via Ambulance Radio including patient description, age, chief complaint and Vital Signs
- Responsible to manage daily workflow during scheduled and unscheduled SYSTEM downtimes
- Ensure EMTALA Regulations are maintained

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- 1-3 years in customer service experience, or a hospital or clinic setting
