Job Summary
Provide early childhood special education programming using varied instructional techniques to meet individualized learning needs of preschool children. Plan specially designed instruction aligned with special education goals, develop IEPs, and monitor student progress. Collaborate with classroom teams, support staff, and ancillary staff to design, implement, and monitor instruction and interventions. Maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment while supervising students and communicating regularly with parents. Bill Medicaid for case management services and participate in curriculum development, school improvement, and professional development. Demonstrate commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices.
Required Qualifications
- Michigan elementary teacher certification with special education and early childhood education endorsement (ZA or ZS)
- Must meet State of Michigan certification and highly qualified requirements
- Ability to work with other professionals in a collaborative manner
- Ability to relate positively to students, parents, and other staff
- Current Michigan State Police and FBI criminal records LiveScan check
