Economist

Economist to support the Great Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO) through supporting rulemaking under the MMPA and ESA, particularly related to Take Reduction Plans, with potential analyses to mitigate threats under ESA/MMPA. Responsibilities include developing and implementing methods to analyze economic impacts of regulations, reviewing data and procedures under applicable statutes and policies (ESA, MMPA, NEPA, Regulatory Flexibility Act, EO 12866), drafting a detailed work plan for economic impact analyses, executing analyses to inform regulatory policy, and supporting team and public comment processes. Position is full-time with a one-year base period and potential for three option periods; work will be performed remotely in coordination with COR and Project Lead. Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS in social science or economics and at least three years of relevant experience; salary range $40-$60 per hour.
