Job Summary
Conduct high-quality teaching, pursue a strong research agenda, and mentor students from diverse backgrounds as a Continuing Faculty Status professor. Demonstrate commitment to the university's mission by integrating spiritual values into scholarship and fostering a culture of covenant belonging centered in Jesus Christ. Support academic and religious missions within the context of Church principles while maintaining excellence in teaching, scholarship, and citizenship. Applicants must submit a mission alignment statement and hold a current temple recommend if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in any field of economics
- Completed PhD by the start date (July 1, 2027)
- Relocation to and residence in Utah for the duration of employment
- Current temple recommend (for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
- Worthiness to hold a temple recommend (for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
- Adherence to the university's Honor Code
- Adherence to Dress & Grooming Standards
- Good standing membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (preferred but treated as a hard requirement for preference context in this specific religious institution hiring)
- Commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the Aims of a BYU Education
- Intentionality in building faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His restored gospel among students and others in the BYU community
- Commitment to seek and be led by the Holy Ghost in all aspects of university assignments
