Job Summary

Conduct client-facing support and data entry for IRC resettlement services, adhering to strict confidentiality and safeguarding policies. Manage sensitive beneficiary information while utilizing Microsoft Excel and learning new software as needed. Complete in-depth training on IRC programming, federal R&P agreements, and programmatic requirements for resettlement services. Interpret client communications if fluent in relevant languages. Maintain multi-term availability during business hours (M-F; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) with preference for a full commitment. This unpaid role offers mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle usage and requires adherence to IRC Way values including Integrity, Service, and Accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a current undergraduate student, graduate student, or less than 12 months past graduation
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or must have active and compliant visas and work authorization status in the United States
  • Primary availability during IRC business hours (M-F; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially
  • Strong intercultural communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language barriers
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a desire to collaborate are essential qualities
  • A high-level of confidentiality is required when working with IRC clients
  • Must adhere to IRC volunteer/intern and workplace policies
  • Must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference given to applicants able to make multi-term commitment
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Education and/or experience working in social work/social services
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn to use new software for data entry
