Job Summary

Design and develop components of an AI-assisted economic scenario tool, delivering production-ready outputs that enhance the global team's analytical capabilities. Construct and validate econometric models using large-scale macroeconomic datasets, ensuring empirical integrity across scenario frameworks. Translate complex economic findings into structured scenario outputs to support decision-making by senior economists and internal stakeholders. Collaborate with economists across EMEA and global regions to integrate scenario tool outputs into broader research workflows and publications. Present progress updates and model results to the EMEA Chief Economist and Head of Economic Modelling, driving iterative improvements to the tool. You will work within the EMEA Economist team, embedded across Frankfurt, London, and Paris, contributing to high-visibility initiatives that shape how S&P Global delivers economic intelligence to global markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in applied economics, macroeconomic modelling, or econometric analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python or R for econometric modelling and large dataset processing
  • Proven use of AI or machine learning tools (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or equivalent Python-based ML libraries) in an economics or research context
  • Business-proficient English (written and spoken)
  • Must attend at least one in-person interview at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office
  • Must be available to work from the office a minimum of two days per week

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience building or contributing to macroeconomic scenario frameworks or forecasting models
  • Experience working with structured macroeconomic databases (e.g., IMF, World Bank, ECB datasets)
  • Hands-on experience integrating large language models (LLMs) or generative AI APIs into analytical workflows
  • Business-proficient German or French (written and spoken)
  • Experience working in cross-regional or globally distributed research teams
  • Track record of presenting quantitative findings to senior stakeholders or in published research
