Job Summary
Ecologist role within Aurecon's Melbourne Environment and Planning team, focusing on ecological field surveys (vegetation, flora and fauna), targeted threatened species surveys (including nocturnal surveys), and preparation of Ecological Assessment Reports. The team provides internal ecological advice to Project Managers and broader Environment & Planning teams. The candidate will work on projects across Victoria with occasional interstate travel, contributing to renewable energy, transport, and Defence sectors; requires the ability to travel to regional areas and work both in the field and desk-based. Strong report writing, organization, and ability to work independently and in a team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3-4 years experience in ecological consulting in Victoria
- Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology or environmental science
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A current Victorian drivers licence
- Ecological technical skills, preferably botanical and/or bird identification skills
