Ecological Project Manager

Job Summary
Manage multidisciplinary teams and project budgets for environmental permitting, wetland delineations, and habitat restoration projects across land development and transportation sectors. Prepare Environmental Resource Assessments, PD&E studies, and open space management plans while coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies. Delineate jurisdictional wetland lines, assess project impacts, and develop strategies to avoid or minimize regulatory requirements. Serve as a client-facing regulatory advisor and expert witness, driving business development and proposal capture. Lead field operations involving long-term standing, frequent walking, and handling equipment up to 50 pounds in wet, dusty, or noisy environments. Requires 10-12 hours of daily standing and ability to work weekends or overnight as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS Environmental Studies or BS/MS Biology or Natural Studies field degree from an accredited program
- Society of Wetland Scientists
- FWCC Gopher Tortoise Agent
- Botany
- Threatened and Endangered Species
- Wide-ranging agency experience
- Water Management Districts (WMD)
- US Fish and Wildlife (USFWS)
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC)
- Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE)
- Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)
- FDOT (PD&E)
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion
- Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required
