Job Summary
Provide advanced clinical expertise in Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS), Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and respiratory care to critically ill patients. Serve as the clinical and technical resource for ECMO equipment, working side-by-side with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and respiratory care practitioners to deliver safe, evidence-based care. Help shape best practices by participating in unit-based committees, mentoring staff, and supporting research initiatives that advance the ECMO program. Maintain current state-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure, NBRC credential, and BLS certification. Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or a related field
- Graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Completion of a comprehensive ECMO training program that follows ELSO standards or acceptance into the ECMO Training program per entity specifications
- Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in age-specific critical intensive care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current state-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and STABLE certification when working in NICU
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
