Job Summary

Identify children with developmental delays and provide intervention services in home, daycare, and community settings to strengthen family capacity. Coordinate designated children's Individual Family Service Plans, promote skill acquisition, and maintain accurate documentation of all services. Comply with productivity standards for monthly average delivered service hours and average children served per month. Travel to designated counties is required, along with flexibility in scheduling and use of telehealth practices where applicable. Maintain a valid driver's license and capacity to operate a motor vehicle for service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree which includes a minimum of 18 hours of semester course credit relevant to early childhood intervention, 3 hours of which must be in early childhood development or early childhood special education
  • Registration in the state of Texas as an EIS before September 1, 2011
  • 40 clock hours of continuing education in early childhood development or early childhood special education completed within 5 years prior to employment
  • Completion of all credentialing activities to become an Early Intervention Specialist within one year of hire
  • Passing and maintaining all Center mandated trainings
  • Completion of all required initial ECI training
  • Valid and current driver's license
  • Insurability under Center insurance
  • Capacity to operate a motor vehicle
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, exchange of ideas, problem solving, etc.)
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Visual acuity of 20/20, depth perception, and strong fine motor skills
  • Capacity to lift, hold, and play with young children
  • Ability to move into and out of sitting positions on the floor
  • Ability to sit at a desk
  • Literate and possess basic math skills
  • Skill in the use of personal and network computers, word processing, database, spreadsheet and office management software (Microsoft)
  • Travel to designated counties
  • Flexibility in scheduling
