Job Summary
Perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams under physician direction, prioritizing and scheduling procedures while coordinating with medical staff and patients. Prepare for each exam by verifying patient identity, educating families, and transporting patients to the unit. Throughout the exam, identify patient needs, communicate care plans, and ensure safety and comfort. After completion, return patients to rooms, document results, apply charge codes, and maintain equipment and supplies. Mentor caregivers and students on procedural techniques and support quality improvement initiatives. This part-time role at Good Samaritan Hospital includes on-call shifts and requires ARDMS or CCI certification.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department

- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
