Job Summary
Prioritize and schedule cardiac and vascular exams, coordinate with medical staff and patients, and transport individuals to the procedure room. Perform ultrasound exams consistent with departmental protocols while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes. Throughout the exam, identify patient needs, communicate with physicians and caregivers, and document results with appropriate charge codes. Return patients to their rooms post-exam and maintain equipment, work areas, and supply stocks. Mentor students on basic equipment use and procedural technique while supporting quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department

- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be available for on call shifts
- Must be available for 10-hour days
- Must be available for variable shifts
- Must be available for part-time (30 Hours)
- Must be able to comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
- Must be able to acknowledge that outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Recent graduates of an echocardiography program
- New to the field
- Have minimal experience
