Job Summary
Prioritize and schedule cardiac and vascular exams, coordinating with medical staff and patients to ensure timely procedures. Perform ultrasound exams consistent with departmental protocols, educating patients on the process while maintaining safety and comfort. Throughout the exam, identify patient needs and communicate care plans with physicians and caregivers, then return patients to their rooms to ensure stability. Document exam results, apply charge codes, and clean equipment while mentoring students on procedural technique. Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in educational opportunities to maintain clinical competence.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department

- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
