Job Summary
Set up ultrasound equipment, attach electrodes to patients, and document cardiac data while preparing patients for sonographic imaging. Perform echocardiography on treadmill patients to assess heart functions and collaborate with cardiologists by evaluating findings and reporting results. Interview patients, review medical records to adapt techniques, and maintain equipment, inventory supplies, and enter patient information into systems. Maintain job knowledge through professional development and protect patient confidentiality. Requires RDCS or RCS certification, BLS certification, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Currently certified, or eligible to be certified, with a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS) Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- All required vaccinations
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
- Echocardiography (ECG) certification
