Job Summary
Perform two-dimensional, Doppler, transesophageal, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart structures, functions, and blood flow for cardiovascular conditions. Complete technologist reports in the structured application and communicate diagnostic findings to cardiologists. Execute approximately seven exams daily using Philips Epic ultrasound systems, including adult 2D/3D transthoracic and transesophageal studies, myocardial strain, and contrast bubble studies. Work a Monday through Friday day shift with call every seventh week, requiring residence within a 30-minute drive of the hospital. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Experience
- Certification
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines
- At least one of the four certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS)
- BLS
- 1 year of experience
- Communication with patients and providers
- provide accurate diagnostic information
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards
- Must live within a 30-minute drive of the hospital for call purposes
- Must be available for call every 7th week to include the weekend
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for the preceding Friday and following Monday of their call weekend
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree
- 1 year of experience preferred adult 2D and 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, myocardial strain, contrast (DEFINITY), agitated saline (bubble study), exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo
