Job Summary
The Echocardiographer performs cardiovascular ultrasound procedures per provider orders, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, and generates accurate reports for Cardiovascular Ultrasound services. Responsibilities include maintaining Echo database and documentation, assisting in charges and data entry, participating in call rotations, ensuring image quality and adherence to policies, and providing patient care with strong communication and teamwork in a 24/7 Echo Lab environment across hospitals and clinics. Requires a certificate-program credential with licensure (BLS/CPR, OBMI) and RDCS-RCS credentials within 90 days; six months of direct patient care in cardiovascular ultrasound; and intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems. Shift is relief/part-time with variable hours and partnership in a unionized setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited certificate program
- Current BLS/CPR Health Care Provider certification
- Current OBMI License
- RDCS-AE or RCS required within 90 days of hire
- Six (6) months of direct patient care experience in cardiovascular ultrasound
Additional Requirements
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements
