Job Summary
The Echocardiographer PD in the Cardiology department is responsible for assessing patients’ heart conditions through detailed ultrasound images obtained during echocardiograms. Essential tasks include recording patient data and test results accurately. Procedures may involve 2-D or 3-D echocardiograms, Strain, Contrast, Doppler, TEE, and Stress Echo. A high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an echocardiography certificate program, and hospital experience are required, along with certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a cardiac sonographer or echocardiography certificate program
- Hospital training/experience required
- Certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDC)
- Active certification/registry required within 6 months of hire date
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association) required
