Job Summary
Perform echocardiography studies and stress ECHOs, recognizing, calculating, interpreting, and analyzing hemodynamic data. Complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing, and modify care according to patient age-specific needs. Interpret information to identify individual patient requirements for care relative to age, communicating observations to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff. Requires Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentials (RDCS or RCS) and two years of echocardiography experience. Located in the Okatie, SC clinic at Hilton Head Heart.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
- Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age
- Ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)' requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs
- Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff
Desired Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree
- Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
- Two years of echocardiography experience
