Job Summary
Noninvasive diagnostic echocardiography procedures are performed using cardiac ultrasound to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating heart disorders. Responsibilities include acquiring complete 2D, Doppler, and Color Flow images for transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, introducing yourself to patients, obtaining consent, explaining procedures, documenting in the medical record, managing contrast administration and IV access, downloading and organizing study data, and coordinating with interpreting physicians. Additional duties include post-processing, data entry of ordering/tech information, maintaining equipment and supplies, posting charges, and adhering to department protocols and safety guidelines. Requires ARDMS/RDCS certification within one year, BLS, and ability to work in a hospital setting with potential travel between system locations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated DMS program
- One (1) or more years of echocardiography experience or recent graduate of accredited program in echocardiography
- ARDMS RDCS certification within one year (preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Act 33/34/73 FBI clearances (with renewal)
