Job Summary
Perform diagnostic cardiology and vascular sonographic imaging to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and intervention under supervision. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment while recognizing normal and abnormal anatomy to obtain high-quality images. Interpret internal and external business challenges to recommend best practices that improve products, processes, or services. Supervise student sonographers, direct daily workflow, and participate in quality control initiatives and departmental committees. Administer medical aid for emergencies, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate documentation of clinical history and physician orders. Work independently in complex situations while adhering to state and federal regulations and Baptist Health mission standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of sonography
- Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
- Must maintain one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in fetal echocardiography; or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)...
- Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) guidelines within twelve (12) months of hire
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience
- Able to perform routine Echocardiography exams including, but not limited to, 2-D and M-Mode Echocardiography and/or Vascular sonography exams including, but not limited to, 2-D and M-Mode Imaging, Color Flow and Spectral Doppler, Carotid Ultrasound, Venous Doppler Upper and Lower Extremities, and Arterial Duplex Upper and Lower Extremities
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
- Must demonstrate competency in routinely performing at least TEN of the following Echocardiography and/or Vascular ultrasound exams pertinent to department: 3-D, Strain, Exercise Stress Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, TAVR, Mitral Clip, Complex Valve, Watchman, Post Processing, Contrast Studies, Agitated Saline Studies, Transesophageal (TEE), Surgical TEE, Complex Cardiac Shunts, Pericardiocentesis, Single Ventricle, TOF, AVC, TGA, ECMO Cannula Position, Complex Heterota...
