Echo Ultrasound Tech – Cardiac Sonographer

Job Summary
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, prepare patients for echocardiogram procedures, and produce diagnostic-quality cardiac images for interpretation. Perform preliminary, modifiable reports for physician review and assist with procedures such as pericardiocentesis and accurate EF measurements. Conduct pediatric echocardiograms and support large structural program cases including pre/post Cath, CABG, TAVR, and PFO evaluations. Use Philips and GE platforms and Intellispace PACS for image review and documentation. Requirements include ARDMS-RDS, ARDMS-RDMS, or CCI certification, BLS, and two years of acute care echo experience. Work days, 0800–1800 on a 4x10 schedule with approximately one night call shift per week. New employee orientation includes a buddy call during the first week. The Echo department manages high volume across inpatient, outpatient, ER, and procedural settings.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS-RDS, ARDMS-RDMS, or CCI cardiac sonography certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care echo experience
- Experience in inpatient settings
- Experience in outpatient settings
- Comfortable performing pediatric echocardiograms
- Experience assisting with procedures such as pericardiocentesis
- Performing accurate EF measurements
- Willingness to participate in department on-call rotation
- Willingness to work occasional night call shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
- Experience with stress echocardiography
- Experience with contrast/bubble studies
- Experience with Philips ultrasound platforms
- Familiarity with Philips/Intellispace PACS
- Ability to produce preliminary, modifiable reports for physician review
- Prior orientation or preceptor experience
