Job Summary
Perform cardiac testing including stress, transesophageal, transthoracic, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, as well as ICE, 3D, strain, specialty, and fetal echocardiograms. Calculate acquired data, prepare studies for medical staff interpretation, and document exam performance in the electronic medical record and hospital financial system. Review patient charts to select procedural methodology and perform ultrasound tests based on patient-specific morphology and pathology. Participate in departmental staff meetings, quality assurance sessions, and team building activities while informing patients and the healthcare team about procedures and equipment. Maintain continuous education in cardiac sonography and demonstrate professional commitment through membership in local and national societies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent
- Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through schooling training and experience related to echo including in two-dimensional, doppler, color doppler, transesophageal echocardiology (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echo and understanding of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs
