Job Summary
Conduct echocardiograms to visualize internal cardiac structures, measure valves and ventricles, and visualize blood flow. Assist physicians with complex ultrasound procedures and TEE testing. Manage clerical functions for the Cardiopulmonary Department, including document handling, disposition, and information gathering. Maintain current BCLS certification and complete required Echocardiogram program or ARDS/CCL credentials within 90 days. Work variable per diem shifts. Saint Michael's Medical Center, a 358-bed tertiary-care center in Newark, offers this role within its Heart and Vascular Institute.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Echocardiogram program within 90 days of hire or equivalent training
- Current BCLS certificate
- Able to assist physician with TEE testing
- Effective July 1, 2017 ARDMS or CCI
- Proficient computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages
- Hospital experience in the Cardiology field
