Job Summary
Echo Tech performs and supports diagnostic non-invasive echocardiography in the USC Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Responsibilities include producing high-quality echocardiography images, preparing and presenting findings with patient information for timely interpretation, maintaining accurate documentation and PACs entries, troubleshooting equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the Cardiologist and Supervisor to sustain efficient workflow and service quality. The role requires credentialing in echocardiography (RDCS/RCS/RCCS/CRCS), completion of a specialized sonography program, and ongoing professional growth within the department, on a full-time 8-hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Specialized/technical training in echocardiography/cardiac sonography
- Completion of program related to sonography with emphasis on echocardiography/cardiac sonography
- 1 year minimum experience performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, ECGs and related diagnostic cardiac procedures
- Echocardiography credentialing (RDCS, RCS, RCCS, CRCS)
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification
- LA City Fire Life Safety Training (if applicable)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work with physicians, staff, and patients
