Job Summary
Perform diagnostic cardiac procedures to assess structures and hemodynamics, positioning patients and selecting technical parameters accurately. Record patient test results, report findings to physicians, and ensure all activities comply with regulatory standards. Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting staff to abnormalities, while maintaining adequate supplies and verifying equipment functionality. Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct lead markers and patient data. Maintain a clean and orderly department including procedure rooms and storage areas. Work in a constant state of alertness, lifting patients and objects up to 50 lbs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Cardiac Sonography program
- ARDMS/CCI certification in cardiac Sonography
- Completion of an Echosonography program
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
