Job Summary
Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies in the echocardiography lab, including stress echocardiograms, dobutamine studies, and TAVRS procedures. Assess patient medical status by taking histories, explain exam procedures to patients and families, and record all digital imaging studies for the Medical Director. Complete patient billing to ensure accurate charges, enter information into the PACS or EMR system, and retrieve archived studies as requested. Support department goals by participating in new program development, educating staff, and maintaining equipment in clean, safe working conditions. Adhere to infection control policies, universal precautions, and safety standards while providing age-appropriate care and collaborating with medical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Allied Health program in Echocardiography/Cardiac Imaging
- Registered (RDCS and/or RCS)
- BLS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS
- State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
