Job Summary

Obtain, review, and synthesize patient history and clinical data to facilitate diagnostic results through cardiac ultrasound procedures, including adult/pediatric transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo, and TEE. Produce, assess, and evaluate ultrasound images while providing interpreting physicians with oral or written summaries of technical findings. Maintain technical skills, monitor equipment condition, and troubleshoot imaging systems as needed. Ensure proper infection control, documentation, and confidentiality while participating in daily operations such as cleaning, stocking, and emergency call rotation. Adhere to departmental policies, quality assurance processes, and continuing education requirements to support laboratory accreditation and process improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
  • Active Registry by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or Credentials by CCI (Cardiac Credentialing International)
  • ARDMS specialty certification in Adult or Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within 6 months after hire/transfer date
  • CPR within 90 days from hire date
  • 3+ years' experience in diagnostic ultrasound after completing an accredited ultrasound program
  • Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Educational methodology, data organization, information handling skills and leadership abilities
