Job Summary
Perform diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics, recording patient test results and reporting findings. Monitor patient comfort and safety during exams, alerting physicians to abnormalities. Position patients and select anatomic parameters accurately, ensuring images meet PACS standards with correct lead markers and patient data. Maintain equipment in proper working condition and verify supplies, while keeping the department clean and orderly. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards and work in a constant state of alertness.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Cardiac Sonography program
- ARDMS credentials
- Completion of an Echosonography program
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
