Job Summary

Perform diagnostic cardiac procedures to assess structures and hemodynamics in adult or pediatric patients, recording results and reporting abnormalities to physicians. Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct lead markers and patient data. Maintain adequate supplies, verify equipment functionality, and keep the department clean and orderly while complying with regulatory standards. Perform other duties as assigned in a constant state of alertness. Requires completion of an Echosonography program and ARDMS or CCI certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Cardiac Sonography program
  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac Sonography
  • Completion of an Echosonography program
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
  • Rare kneeling and sitting
