ECE Inupiat Language Teacher

Job Summary
Teach Inupiat language with a focus on bicultural/multicultural instruction and culturally responsive practices. Implement research-based instructional strategies to direct student learning, tailoring materials, pacing, and methods to individual differences in learning styles, rate, and achievement. Develop and maintain weekly lesson plans, assess student proficiency to inform short and long-range programs, and use culture-based unit development per annual expectations with Rubicon Atlas. Maintain a positive classroom culture, foster cooperative relationships with students, families, and staff, participate in district goals and committees, supervise instructional paraprofessionals as needed, and adhere to district policies and professional teaching standards. This role requires transportation within the North Slope Borough School District and willingness to travel as described in the environment section.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education required
- Alaska Teacher Certificate required
- Three years of experience in education preferred
- Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience preferred
