Job Summary
Develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, adapting instructional plans to meet age-appropriate academic, behavioral, and social goals. Provide direct special education instruction while monitoring student progress, maintaining compliance records, and assisting with personal self-help tasks. Manage classroom discipline, deescalate behaviors, and communicate regularly with parents and community caregivers to coordinate student support.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in special education
- certification in at least one area of disability as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
- Bachelor's Degree with Special Education Teacher certification
