Job Summary
Design and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies aligned with each student's Individual Education Program (IEP). Deliver group and individual instruction while administering and interpreting educational tests to track academic and behavioral progress. Utilize functional behavioral assessments to develop intervention plans and apply positive behavior strategies to de-escalate excesses and manage the classroom environment. Provide direct care for self-help skills including toileting, dressing, and feeding as needed. Collaborate with administration, support staff, and parents to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree in education
- Valid, or renewing, NC Teaching license in assigned area
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Easy IEP
- Knowledge of EC laws, rules, and regulations
