EC Teacher

Licensed special education teacher provides services to students identified as disabled under state and federal regulations, developing and implementing the IEP in classroom settings aligned to age and developmental level; creates lesson plans, adapts materials, and designs activities to help EC students achieve IEP goals; monitors progress and maintains EC records; coordinates with child study team, educators, and parents; conducts evaluations and reevaluations, and ensures compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Responsibilities include developing instructional plans aligned with curricular goals, employing diverse teaching techniques to meet IEP goals, scheduling team meetings, supervising educational assistants, reporting progress to parents, and maintaining student records in accordance with policies. Requires ability to administer behavior support and assist with personal and self-help tasks as needed; requires effective communication and collaboration with families and school staff. Physical demands include sitting, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and occasional handling of students with challenging behavior.
