EC Teacher - General Curriculum (2026-2027)

Job Summary
EC Teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities, develops IEPs, adapts materials, and delivers specialized instruction to enable students to benefit from the general education curriculum with supports. Responsible for creating lesson plans, monitoring progress, maintaining EC records compliant with state/federal guidelines, and collaborating with administrators, colleagues, parents, and community members. Employs adaptive instructional strategies, maintains a positive behavioral support system, and participates in data collection, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary teams to promote educational, physical, and social-emotional development. Provides crisis intervention and supports transitions for students in inclusive settings and within ABSS programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an approved program in special education
- Must possess valid NC certification in the area of Exceptional Children in one or more specialty areas, or be eligible to receive certification
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience
