Job Summary
The EC Teacher for Autism K-12 is responsible for developing and implementing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities while providing direct special education instruction tailored to meet individual student needs. This role includes creating lesson plans, adapting materials, monitoring student progress, and maintaining compliance with state and federal education statutes. The teacher will communicate with parents about their children’s educational progress, assist students with personal and self-help tasks, and maintain a safe and disciplined classroom environment. Effective interaction with students, co-workers, and parents is essential, along with a commitment to professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in education or in a related area
- Valid licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction or is in the process of working towards licensure
