Job Summary
Support Exceptional Children teacher in instruction and classroom activities; provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to students with special needs; prepare visual aids and instructional materials, duplicate/organize materials, and assist with testing. Monitor and report student progress, maintain data/attendance records, and help with behavior management. May serve as substitute teacher and assist with establishing lessons, arranging classroom furnishings, and operating audiovisual equipment. Requires working knowledge of core subjects, ability to follow instructions, and strong communication and confidentiality when handling student information.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or 4 year degree in any area OR completion of 96 Community College/University contact hours with an acceptable score on college placement tests in reading, writing and math.
