Job Summary
EC Teacher - Adapted Curriculum delivering specialized instruction to students with disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs, adapting general education content to meet individual needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and maintain records. Responsibilities include planning lessons, employing adaptive strategies (including ABSS/adapted curriculum approaches, multisensory techniques, and phonetics), ensuring compliance with state/federal mandates, conducting IEP meetings, and supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in special education, NC certification for Exceptional Children (or eligible), and a valid NC driver’s license; preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, 3-5 years of experience, and Spanish-speaking ability. The role involves direct and indirect instructional support, data collection for progress monitoring, crisis intervention as needed, and collaboration with parents and professionals to optimize student outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an approved program in special education
- Must possess valid NC certification in the area of Exceptional Children in one or more specialty areas, or be eligible to receive certification
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
