Job Summary

The EC Teacher delivers direct and indirect instruction to students with disabilities, develops and implements IEPs, adapts curriculum and materials for an inclusive and adaptive learning environment, and maintains accurate student records. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, employing specialized instructional strategies, monitoring progress toward IEP goals, collaborating with parents and a multidisciplinary team, conducting IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations, providing crisis intervention as needed, collecting data for interventions, and participating in program development and reporting. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and Spanish-speaking ability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an approved program in special education
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Must possess valid NC certification in the area of Exceptional Children in one or more specialty areas, or be eligible to receive certification
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
