Job Summary
Assist Exceptional Children (EC) teachers in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and annual goals; interpret testing data to support placement, reevaluation, and manifestation processes; ensure EC procedures and compliance with Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities; provide parent and family support for students with disabilities; conduct in-house audits of EC records; serve as a Local Education Agency representative in IEP meetings; collaborate with EC Professional Learning Communities and the Instructional Design and Innovation team; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- some college coursework in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, teachers, and families
- Basic knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education laws is a plus
